BIOGRAPHY
Onkst’s signature style is characterized by flowing layers, serendipitous splatters, action, movement, and emotion. Each piece that Onkst creates is its own engulfing universe that invites the viewer to experience it. Onkst often encodes words, motifs, numbers, and symbols in his works.
Onkst gathers much inspiration from language as he states, "Some things simply cannot be expressed through words alone." Abraham’s powerful and passionate compositions shake the snow globe of the viewers' everyday lives, giving them a breath of fresh air and inspiring them.
Although he grew up in the small town of Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, art has allowed Onkst to travel and exhibit his work across the United States and overseas.
Onkst graduated in 2023 with his B.A. in visual art studies from the Pennsylvania State University and plans to pursue an MFA in painting.
Abraham Onkst is a painter, designer, and creator born and raised in beautiful rural central Pennsylvania.
Since a young age, Onkst has had a natural gravitation to the art world and all things creative. He first decided to pick up a brush when he was 13 years old and has not stopped since.
Onkst has developed his unique style through years of trial and error, experimentation, practice, and patience, which is gaining rapid traction with collectors worldwide.
His work is featured in collections alongside artists such as Damien Hirst, David Salle, Taher Jaoui, Adam Handler, Romero Britto, and more.
