BIOGRAPHY
Jeffrey Lynn Koons is an American artist recognized for his work dealing with popular culture and his sculptures depicting everyday objects, including balloon animals produced in stainless steel with mirror-finish surfaces. He lives and works in both New York City and his hometown of York, Pennsylvania.
Koons studied at the Maryland Institute College of Art and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He gained fame in the 1980s with iconic works like Michael Jackson and Bubbles and has since created monumental sculptures that engage viewers in a dialogue with cultural history. Koons's work is held in prestigious collections worldwide, including the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. He is also known for his collaborations with brands like Louis Vuitton and has been involved in various philanthropic efforts, including raising funds for child welfare.
